HOW TO REACH PAVIA
In Milan there are
three airports: Malpensa, Linate and Orio al Serio (in Bergamo).
Now let's explain how to reach Pavia
from each of them.
1) FROM
MALPENSA AIRPORT
From the airport to Milano Centrale (central railway station) you can take the train Malpensa Express (13 € one way) or buses of company Autostradale (8 € for 1 hour of travel time).
From Milano
Centrale there are several regional trains (4 €) to Pavia. Normally the train
is at platform 23 (but for safety it's always better to check the departures
scoreboard), the ticket office is at the ground floor.
2) FROM LINATE AIRPORT
Linate airport is connected through
underground M4.
The currently
active stations are: Linate Airport, Repetti, Forlanini Station, Argonne, Susa and Dateo. Trains leave from the Linate and Dateo
terminus every day from 6.00 to 21.00 and provide a passage every 7 minutes.
From Dateo is possible to reach Pavia station in just 35 minutes
on Train Line S13.
3) FROM ORIO AL SERIO (BERGAMO)
If you arrive at Orio al Serio airport,
you can take one of the 25 daily runs from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm direct to
Milan's central railway station. From Milan's central station, you can take a
train to Pavia. The Milan-Pavia train ride takes 30-40 minutes.
The train station of Milan can be
reached from the airport by two different bus companies: Autostradale or Orio Shuttle
RAILWAY LINES
The railway line that connects Pavia
with Milan is called Trenord and on their

the railway stations of Milano Rogoredo, Milano Lambrate and Milano Centrale.

S13:
part of the Milan subway service, it takes about 30 minutes to get to Pavia
from Milano Rogoredo; Pavia is the final stop

Regional or Cross Regions Trains (they usually have an R before their identification
number): they take 15 minutes to get from Milan to Pavia, but Pavia is not
their final stop. Remember to get off.

Long Distance train: Italy has a very innovative and rich system of long distance trains. The ones that stops
in Milan and Pavia are called Intercity. Please note that the ticket costs more
if you decide to take this train (double the price of S13 and Regioanls) but you will be assigned a seat and they usually
have priority on other trains.

ANOTHER WAY TO REACH PAVIA FROM MILAN
Pavia and Milan are also connected by
a bus company called AUTOGUIDOVIE.
The bus station of Pavia is located in
Viale Trieste 23 (near the train station); from here
you can reach Milan at the station of Viale Famagosta, connected con the metro (line 2, green).
The bus line that connects the station
of Milano Famagosta with that of Pavia is the T175
(Milano-Binasco-Pavia), which costs 4 € with a travel
time of 45 minutes.

ONCE REACHED PAVIA
Urban Bus Lines
Here there is the

There is also an
app called Autoguidovie Pavia that you may use to buy
your tickets. Please note that it is in Italian.

Bus tickets can be
bought on bus (if you have coins) or at newspapers or other shops showing the
symbol of the bus company.
From the station take bus n° 3
(Final Stop Maugeri/Mondino or Colombarone/or
Cascina Pelizza: basically
all number 3 come this way) or n°7
(Final Stop Maugeri/Mondino) Get off at the “Ist. Universitari – Tangenziale Est”; this stop is
right after a bridge on the motorway
From the scientific campus you can take bus n°3 and n° 7 to go
back to the station (all n°3 and n°7 stop at the train and bus station) or to go to the town centre. Check the map to verify where the main stops are.

Usually, you may
